Hon. Isa Ashiru has picked the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket in Kaduna State.
Ashiru defeated five others, including a former Governor Muktar Ramalan Yero and Senator Shehu Sani at the primary, which lasted for hours at the Gymnasium Hall of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
Declaring the outcome of the election, former Plateau PDP chairman, Chief Raymond Dabo, announced that Ashiru polled 414 votes; Sani Sidi polled 260; Muktar Ramalan Yero bagged 28 votes; Sani Abbas won 15 votes; Haruna Sa’eed got 11 votes, and Senator Shehu Sani polled 2 votes with 30 Invalid Votes.
Dabo declared Ashiru the flag bearer of the party after polling the highest valid vote cast.
In appreciation, Ashiru thanked God for the victory and the delegates for again picking him as their party’s flag bearer.
He then commended other aspirants for their commitment to the contest and sought their support to ensure the party emerges victorious in the general elections.
