Cheque, a Nigerian rapper signed under Phyno’s label imprint known as Penthause Records, has called out the organizers of The Headies Awards for snubbing him for the second time in their nomination.
The Headies Awards released about thirty categories of nominees preparatory of its 15th edition that will take place outside Nigeria for the first time in the history of the award. However, Cheque’s name was overlooked and omitted once again.
Cheque released his debut album, a complete rap album with a little mixture of trap and Afrobeats, within the period under review, October 2020 to December 2021, but the rapper failed to bag a nomination.
Cheque, yesterday, 24th May, 2022, called out the organizers of the prestigious awards, drawing their attention to how he has been snubbed twice, and how his album deserves to be in the list of Rap Album of the Year category. He wrote:
