Lionel Messi scored the opening goal for Barcelona
Barcelona moved five points clear at the top of La Liga after a battling 2-1 win over Getafe on Sunday.
First-half goals from Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez proved enough but Barca had to survive a testing second half after Jaime Mata pulled a goal back just before the break.
The win sees Barca capitalise on Real Madrid‘s home defeat to Real Sociedad to move 10 points clear of their rivals, while second-placed Atletico Madrid also dropped points in a 1-1 draw away to Sevilla.
