Davido, the afrobeat superstar, has expressed his preparedness for the Osun gubernatorial election scheduled for July 2022, stating that politics in Nigeria is not for the faint-hearted.
The celebrity declared politics in Nigeria is only for the brave-hearted, adding, that he was ready to hit the road for the campaign.
“Nigerian politics is not for the faint-hearted…. FIELD READY.”
The Osun State indigen has continued to show massive support for his uncle, Ademola Adeleke’s gubernatorial ambition under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Davido had in March stressed his support for his uncle’s ambition and explained he was ‘fighting for his State and his blood.’
“I’m fighting for my state and my blood! You’re fighting for someone who doesn’t care about you and will probably even regard me before you.”
Davido’s response was elicited after a Twitter handle, @lexxy4real asked why his uncle didn’t contest for governorship in Atlanta instead of Nigeria.
“Same Naija wey your uncle dey contest election? Why can’t he contest as the governor of Atlanta since he is a citizen there? Why Naija wey don cast?”, he tweeted.
Lexxy4real’s tweet arose following Davido’s complaint about the state of the country.
“Naija don cast fully,” Davido had tweeted.
