Peter Obi Secures Labour Party Presidential Ticket; As Pat Utomi And Two Others Stepped Down

Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra state has won the presidential primary election of the Labour Party, emerging as the flag bearer of the party for next year’s general elections after dumping the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The primary election was held on Monday in Asaba, the Delta state capital, with 185 delegates partaking in the exercise.

Obi had emerged as the winner unopposed, with three other aspirants stepping down for him. The three aspirants include renowned political economist, Pat Utomi, Faduri Joseph and Olubusola Emmanuel-Tella, who all pledged their support to him.
