Former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been declared the winner of the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He was declared the winner of the contest by Kebbi Governor Abubakar Bagudu, who is chairman of the APC Election Management Committee.
Tinubu polled a total of 1,271 votes to defeat other aspirants at the party’s presidential primary election in Eagle Square, Abuja.
He defeated Rotimi Amaechi who came second with 316 votes and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who followed with 235 votes.
Tinubu will face Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party among others at the 2023 general elections.
